Gather your ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a mix of all)

  • 1 cup milk (cow's milk or non-dairy milk like almond milk or soy milk)

my smoothie ingredients

Instructions:

I throw my frozen berries straight in the blender but you can always let them thaw for a few minutes first. I also leave the green bits on the strawberries

Add the berries, peanut butter, and protein powder to a blender.

Pour the milk over the top of the other ingredients.

Blend on high until everything is combined and smooth.

If the smoothie is too thick, add a bit more milk to thin it out to your desired consistency.
Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy!

Tips for making a healthy smoothie:

Choose high-quality ingredients: Choose fresh or frozen fruits, high-quality protein powder, and non-processed peanut butter. I buy my berries when they are in season and freeze them in my stash of silicone zip-lock bags.

Use non-dairy milk: For a dairy-free option, use non-dairy milk like almond milk or soy milk or water if you prefer.

Limit added sugar: Avoid adding additional sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. The natural sweetness from the berries and protein powder should be enough.

Add greens: Consider adding a handful of greens like spinach or kale for an extra boost of nutrition. I keep the tops on my strawberries and throw them in whole.

Use a high-speed blender: You don't have to spend a ton on money to get a decent blender. keep a look out on Marketplace or similar, save an unwanted item going into landfill, and also some dollars at the same time. That's a win for you and the planet. Also invest in some silicone zip-lock pouches, they are a brilliant way to store so many items.
